Fax transmission is part of the standard reference services of Omaha Public Library.  The service is available to residents of Douglas County, and is intended to provide access to reference and research materials that are not readily available, and cannot be borrowed for at-home use.  Service to individuals outside the service area is addressed by the library’s fee-based research services policy.
  1. Reference transmissions are limited to fewer than 10 pages. Customers requiring larger amounts of information will be directed to visit the appropriate library to acquire the needed information, or to OPL’s fee-based research services policy.
  2. Materials available for circulation will not be sent by facsimile, and should instead be requested through the OPL holds system for delivery to the closest branch.
  3. All items transmitted must meet the fair use provisions of Title 17, U.S. Code on copyright.
  4. Items which carry specific copyright statements forbidding copying will not be transmitted.
  5. Fax transmission is a service available for use with Omaha Public Library materials only.
