Omaha Public Library and Omaha Parks and Recreation will host a free wine and cheese tasting event for adults ages 21 and up on Thursday, July 19, 6:30-8 p.m., Florence Branch, 2920 Bondesson St. R.S.V.P. by calling 402.444.5299. Those in attendance will have their names entered for prize drawings. The event is sponsored by Baker's, City of Omaha Parks & Recreation, Omaha Public Library Friends & Foundation and The Winery. This program is a special treat for registered adult Summer Reading Program (SRP) participants. If you aren’t already signed up, it’s easy to register online at omahalibrary.org. The incentives to participate extend beyond attending this great event. Adults who read set a great example for children to read. Plus, registered adults will be entered in a drawing to win amazing prizes for every three books they log. Prizes include restaurant gift cards; family memberships to Joslyn Art Museum, Lauritzen Gardens, Durham Museum, Henry Doorly Zoo and Omaha Children’s Museum; a dual membership to Film Streams; and a Kindle Touch. Magazines, newspapers and even the books read to others count toward your reading goals! Visit omahalibrary.org for information about additional programs offered at Omaha Public Library’s 12 metro locations. |
